Sackman Bros. Co. 1935. Box is 11.25x14.25x3" deep with beautiful graphics of Buck Rogers, Wilma Deering, spaceships, etc. on lid and all 4 side panels. The plain box bottom has a 4" jagged tear at center and other edge wear/aging. The lid has 2" split at one corner, lower right corner edge has 4.5" L-shaped split. Scattered across the lid are 8 small pencil point puncture marks. Most blend. Additional moderate scattered edge wear with light creases as well as aging. Still retains a bright appearance with deep orange color. VG. Box is very rare. One side panel of box notes "Size 8" along with stock number "2505" and original price sticker of $2.98. In our 41 years, the few examples of this suit that we've sold or the examples we've seen in reference books featured an orange shirt and a separate black vest with 3.5" dia. attached patch. This example is a combination of those two articles of clothing combined as a single shirt. It is of our opinion that this is as produced. The 3.5" dia. patch held in place by rivets features an image of Buck with text below "Buck Rogers 20th Century." This has moderate aging but very little wear to the silk-screened image/text. Orange parts of the shirt show moderate scattered aging. Overall Fine. The pants are cotton with suede leg coverings, each originally had 2 straps with buckles. Right leg has both straps and both buckles but one buckle is loose. Left leg has both buckles but just one strap. These suede areas have the typical aging and stiffening of the material. Pants also have obvious wear in the form of large stains and other aging. Good. The suede-covered helmet has chin strap with snap and metal accent disk on top. However, missing both the visor and pair of metal ear attachments. Stiffened with age but remains fairly clean overall. About Fine. Suit comes with "Buck Rogers" XZ-35 Rocket Pistol by Daisy Mfg. Co. 7.5" long metal. Title is on left side of gun which also has Buck Rogers character depiction on the handle grip. Works and pops loudly. The silvered metal accent piece has thin .5" streak of oxidation on outer rim edge but o/w retains full bright luster. Body of the gun has scattered tiny traces of paint wear and dots of oxidation which blend with the dark metallic color and are only noticeable when viewed closely. Fine. This comes with 8" tall leather holster with "Buck Rogers" image that matches the patch on the shirt. Has separate belt but the belt loop is loose and incomplete. Holster has moderate scattered wear and aging. VG. A truly classic Buck Rogers item contained in one of the most desirable boxes.
