Auction #183 - Part I
Item numbers 1 through 1290 in auction 183
Item Description
Extremely fine example of the graphic design listed in Sullivan as GW1789-4
and in Albert as AW-11A. 1-5/16" with original shank on reverse. Front depicts
stylized eagle with shield on chest and sunburst above surrounded by bold text
"Memorable Era March The Fourth 1789." Produced in both brass and copper, this
is the copper version. Some tiny surface scratching under magnification but o/w
not at all apparent. All features of the design and lettering stand out boldly
and the piece has a glossy brass surface patina. An outstanding
example.
