Item Description
1-5/8" white metal listed as Sullivan WHH1840-2. This is the second largest medal of those issued for Harrison in 1840. The text and scenes relate to the Whig party fair held at the Bunker Hill Monument, September 8, 1840. Once side depicts the monument itself while the opposite side shows the death scene of General Warren at Bunker Hill. The piece was designed by Mitchell of Boston. Details are all clear with about 20% original silver luster remaining. Couple of extremely tiny edge bumps but VF and much above the average example of this piece. From the Joe Brown Collection.
