Item Description
27x41" for the 1st Superman serial released in 1948 which starred Kirk Alyn as Superman. In conjunction with Columbia Pictures, National Comics Pub. Inc. (DC) created this advance crossover poster promoting their flagship superstar Superman appearing in comics/radio/newspapers and now real life movies. Great graphics of The Man Of Steel taken from the comics of the day 60 years ago. Center of poster has nice large image of Superman in mid-air, cape flowing behind his back with fists clenched. Bottom of poster has 3 images from "Action Comics" #125, "Superman" #54, "World's Finest Comics" #36 (also featuring Batman & Robin). Poster reads "The One And Only Superman - Your Favorite Hero Of Comics Magazines, Radio And Newspapers Comes To Dynamic Real Life In Columbia's Thrilling Movie Serial!" While main purpose of poster is to promote Columbia's serial, it also promotes National Comics Pub. Inc. (DC Comics) comic books featuring Superman. Also mentioned are Superman's appearances in radio and newspapers. Poster was created by DC to promote their flagship character - Superman. Of the only 4 or 5 examples known, this is by far the nicest condition with no restoration of any type. Mint. Super graphics.
