Item Description
6.5x8.5". 3.5" ink signature. In darker ink reads "To Walter." He likely signed a stack of photos to have ready for admirers, then added inscriptions which would account for the different ink. Chamberlain is best known for his June 4-6, 1927 flight across the Atlantic which, by reaching Germany, broke Lindbergh's two-week-old distance record. He was a test pilot for pioneer aircraft designer Giuseppi Bellanca. Bold, clear photo of plane with bright "Amoco" logo on plane's side. Clear, clean oval inset of Chamberlain with aviation goggles/helmet. VF. Comes with Hake's COA.
