Item Description
1-1/8" white metal with brilliant silver luster. Front has his portrait and reads "James A. Garfield The Nation's Choice For President, 1880." In this form, the piece is listed as DeWitt/Sullivan 1880-7. DeWitt lists it again as item 8 with a presidential reverse and also as item 9 with an 1881 inaugural reverse. However, this piece on the reverse has a wreath enclosing the date "July 2nd 1881." Text above is "For Him The Civic Wreath." Text below is "Danger That Found Him Faithful, Crowns Him Great." Mirror-like proof finish.
