Item Description
Each embossed brass shell is 1x1.25" tall designed as a horseshoe with star accents above a panel across the center with oval openings for the cardboard photos of the 1884 presidential candidates. Each piece has a vertical stickpin on the reverse. One horseshoe pictures the successful duo of Cleveland and Hendricks while the other pictures the losing Republican candidates Blaine and Logan. Hendricks photo has small bit of discoloration on far right and the contrast on the Blaine piece is not quite as sharp as on the Cleveland piece. Still overall, we would grade both pieces VF and the luster on the brass is glossy and Exc. Both pieces are unlisted in both DeWitt and Hake. Rare.
