Item Description
The medalet is 15/16" in white metal listed as Sullivan 1892-11. Front of the piece shows top hat with the date and with the name "Harrison" across the band. Reverse reads "Protection And Reciprocity." About half of the silver luster remains. The medal is suspended by a small wire from a 1" tall metal piece designed somewhat like a buckle and accented by a slightly frayed piece of rwb ribbon. On the back of this is a .75" vertical stickpin. Also suspended and encircling the medalet is a 1.5" dia. circular piece of metal covered in gold braid. The obvious implication is that Harrison's hat is in the ring and this is the earliest use of this concept that we can recall. Also see T.R. item #274. Rare and unlisted in this form. Fine.
