Item Description
Lot of 3. Each is inscribed to "Fred Schenk" and signed by Doyle. Each is undated. Each with printed captioning below. Dates unknown. First is 15x18" with Uncle Sam at desk reading newspaper headline "War Crisis." Dismembered WWI soldiers, "Gold Star Mother" and taxpayer look to him for answers. Second is 14x15.5". Small figure at bottom right is identified as Johnson pumping the "N.R.A. Booster Pump" into the economy. Uncle Sam scratches his head and questions "What's Clogging The System?" Last is 17x19" with center figure identified as Hull holding the canary in a cage as military vehicles pass by. Captioned "In The Middle Of The Road." Art is done in India ink/grease pen/white accents on artboard. Light surface dust. Some aging. Nice grouping of a famous New Deal era cartoonist. VF.
