Item Description
4x7.75x2.25" deep hinged wooden box for J.H. Lucke & Co. Cigars produced in Cincinnati, OH. Factory #567 label on underside. c. late 1800s. End panel has "Lucke's Brownies" cigar label showing large Brownies cigar with Palmer Cox Brownie characters. This label and tax stamp both show wear from box opening. Wooden box has some staining to end panel and lid. VG. Inside lid label has larger red/yellow images repeated from end label showing Indian, policeman and other Brownies, many smoking cigars. "Brownies" cigar image is gilt in gold. Label has light spotting and is Fine. Great graphics.
