Item Description
Known in the ring collecting hobby are a pair of white metal rings from the 1920s to early 1930s obviously portraying Tarzan with a second portraying the ape king Kon-gah. While we've speculated perhaps a giveaway related to an early movie, the manner of distribution is unknown. We've seen about six Kon-gah rings including the one in this lot. Interestingly, 2 rings come along which are made identically to the Tarzan and Kon-gah rings but which have different illustrations. Each is non-adjustable white metal and sizes are small ranging 3-4. One ring, on the top, displays a crossed anchor and sword. Another ring has an oval on the top containing a profile of what seems to be a Roman warrior in helmet. Silvering on all 3 rings retains nice highlights. The sword/anchor ring is VF, the Kon-gah is Exc. with much luster, the warrior ring is N. Mint with vast majority of dulled silver luster. An interesting group.
