Item Description
Original 11x17.25x1.5" deep numbered shipping carton which shows wear but is VF and contains 10.5x14" hardcover with 240 pages. Printed by American Nostalgia Library in 1989. This is No. 1635 (matching number on shipping carton) of a limited edition print run of 3,000. Book collects 25 issue "The Monster Society Of Evil" Captain Marvel storyline that ran in "Captain Marvel Adventures" comic book issues #23-46, originally published 1943-1945. Book also contains several coded messages throughout the book, Captain Marvel club code provided at front of book. Various Captain Marvel comic book covers are reprinted along with Captain Marvel premiums of the 1940s including "Flying Marvels, Captain Marvel Picture Puzzle, Shazam Game" and more. Also pictured is Tom Tyler, who portrayed Captain Marvel in the movie serial. Impressive bound book comes with slipcover that has gold foil embossed Captain Marvel lightning bolt emblem. Reverse has gold foil image of Captain Marvel logo with text "The World's Mightiest Mortal." N. Mint. First copy we've offered that still has numbered shipping carton.
