6.5x8.25x2.25" deep window box contains 5.25" tall die-cast gorilla Arkron Space Robot by Ark Co. Ltd. of Tokyo, Japan. Distributed by Marukay Trading Co. c. 1978. King Kong-like character toy features pair of spring-loaded knives on chest. A cardboard plane could be launched from its torso and a ball-and-chain accessory. This toy was released in the United States under the name "Mech-Gorilla" to avoid licensing fees. Box shows obvious wear with corner tip color rubs and stress marks to cellophane window. Box is Fine with N. Mint contents.
