Lot of 135 issues published by Fawcett between Feb., 1943 and Nov., 1953 (#s 1-85) and by National Periodical Publications Inc. (DC Comics) between Feb., 1954 and May-Jun., 1959 (#s 86-135). First Fawcett issue features Captain Marvel on cover wearing cowboy hat with text "Hopalong's My Choice For Rootin' Tootin' Wild West Action - Captain Marvel." Earlier issues feature art covers, later issues featuring full-color photo covers, many featuring Hoppy with Topper. The later DC comics reverted to art covers towards end of run. Issue #1 has moderate wear with pinch creases to spine and a number of small tears as well as slight pull to staples, though cover remains attached. 1.25" spine split at top. Good/VG. Issue #2 has moderate wear with pinch creases and rounded corners and slivers of cover missing at top and bottom of spine. Good. Rest of issues mostly VG with some issues slightly better or worse. Comes with "Master Comics" #88, which begins Hopalong Cassidy story. Shows moderate wear. Good/VG. 6x9" Hopalong Cassidy Grape Nuts premium comic was printed on pulp paper and shows obvious wear as most of these issues do. .75x2" chip at left, front cover margin.
