Item Description
Folded 19.75x26.5" map was mailed as folded, with "Captain Silver's New And Improved Sea Chart From Aboard The Sea Hound" text as well as noting NBC's Blue Network, where "The Sea Hound" ran as a popular radio program from 1942-1944. The show continued on the Mutual network from 1946-1947 and then on ABC in 1948. The show spawned a short-lived comic book series and a 1947 Columbia serial starring Buster Crabbe. c. 1942. Detailed and colorful map shows North and South America, with notable exports from each country shown. "The Sea Hound" ship is seen at bottom left corner, the "Sky Hound" sea plane in upper right and "Spray Hound" speedboat off the coast of Peru. Map border is lined with flags of countries shown, along with images of their founding fathers, George Washington included. Scattered aging and wear to map back. Fine. Scarce.
