Item Description
Painted tin with heavy wire base. "Patented Dec. 17, 1918." 8x10x1.5" deep box holds toy which is 9.5" tall when assembled. This original box shows heavy wear, tape repairs, aging, missing spot of surface paper spot. Just Good. Interesting variety of one of the many sand/marble/gravity toys produced through the years. This one uses a bucket which has strings that run across pulleys on the top plus a counterweight to come up, get a marble and then bring it down and dump it and go back up and to get the next one. However, at some point marbles were switched to more modern ones as they do not seem to be quite heavy enough to operate toy as designed. All parts are here however, including the bucket with original strings so toy could be made to work as intended by substitution of heavier marbles. Light wear in the form of scattered paint nicks. Fine.
