Item Description
15.75x20.5". Printed on cardboard. Printing process involves four carved wood blocks. Each block represents one color presented in the finished product. Icons appear below the bold yellow name. They represent: a leaf - for the environment/a bandaid - for health care/a brain - for Obama's intelligence/a smile - representing his happiness/a heart - representing his caring way/a cent sign - representing a good economy/2 ears - because he is a good listener/a star - representing America. Below the icons is "DNC 2008." This 24-yr-old artist numbered and signed the 150 posters that he made (139/150). Behind Obama is seen the Denver skyline. The center of the letter "O" is in the shape of Obama's home state Illinois. Portis (the artist) made these with the intention of selling them at Denver during the Democratic National Convention. Of the 150 that he made, he sold out. The original wood blocks have been "voided" so that no others can be made. This printing process is in the style done a century ago as opposed to the mass-produced posters that are computer-printed today. A rare opportunity to acquire a true piece of art. Comes with Hake's COA. Mint as made.
