Item Description
Glossy 8x10" bw photo shows the first ever recipient of the Academy Award for best actress based on her performances in the films "Sunrise, Seventh Heaven, Street Angel." Most known for her career in silent films, she received acclaim in 1937's "A Star Is Born." She has signed in blue felt tip pen "To Dick Davis With Best Wishes - Janet Gaynor." Multiple hairline cracks to emulsion of photo, mostly around edges, not affecting of Gaynor. Signature remains legible and these cracks are only noticeable in reflected light. A few small flakes off emulsion at bottom right margin. Fine. Comes with Hake's COA.
