Item Description
8.25x10.5" sheet bears Nov., 1945 date and has content noting the end of WWII and mentions Mary Marvel dresses, bags, sweaters and cap/scarf combinations available from Mary Marvel Enterprises. Letter bears striking image of Captain Marvel in upper left-hand corner. Folded twice as mailed. Scattered handling wear/aging. Fine/VF. Comes with original mailing envelope which bears repeated image of Captain Marvel and has "Headquarters Captain Marvel Club" return address. Envelope measures 4x9.5" and has obvious wear including 1.75" and 3" tears to back flap, moisture staining and aging. VG. Also included in lot is 8.5x11" offer sheet for "Captain Marvel's Giant Fun Kit." Sheet bears bw art image of Captain Marvel by creator C.C. Beck and bw photo images of fun kit which included tattoo transfers, iron-ons, games, hanging pictures, full-color movie star photos. Reverse has photo images of Marvel Family glow pictures, felt emblems as well as Captain Marvel sweater, pennant, keychain and hat. ©1951 Fawcett Publications Inc. Folded twice as mailed. .25" puncture above image of Captain Marvel on front. Still displays Fine. Giant fun kit is very rare.
