5.5x4.5" tall figural tinted and glazed ceramic mug depicts funny man Bob Hope's head as a mug. c. 1940s. Handle to mug is that of a golf putter which Hope was rarely seen without. Hope's likeness' caricature and prominently features his ski-slope note and his large chin makes up the base of the mug. We have offered a variety of this mug in the past that was painted and we have another variety in this auction (see previous item #1314). While not fully painted, skin areas have faint fleshtone, all other areas left white and then glazed over as produced. Unmarked with exception of inscribed signature under base. Typical scattered hairline crazing and scattered light traces of wear above eyebrow. VF/Exc.
