Auction #196 - Part I
Item numbers 1 though 975 in auction 196
Item Description
11/16" listed but not pictured in DeWitt as GMcC1864-50. Front has beautiful clear ferrotype portrait of him with name above "G.B. M'Clellan." Brass frame reads "For President 1864" with spray of corn to the right and left. Reverse has vertical stickpin with tiny notched tab to hold the pin closed. Some pinpoint carbon dots on the brass rim under magnification but not visible at all otherwise and piece displays Mint with essentially flawless ferrotype surface. A superb example and a rarity in this condition.
