Auction #196 - Part I
Item numbers 1 though 975 in auction 196
Item Description
Full color smaller fabric ribbon with brass tassels is sewn along top and bottom margins as made to a larger blue panel of fabric measuring 3-1/8x10.75". Gold on blue lettering at the top is worn but rather easily readable is "Young Mens Republican Club." There is a little gold above that inscription which possibly reads "New York" but very hard to discern. Couple of pinpoint holes from wearing with a pin but other than the gold lettering loss, extremely clean all over. The beautiful color ribbon features U.S. Capitol, date of "1888," spread-winged eagle, their jugate portraits, steam locomotive with industrial scene and flowing rwb flag reading "Tippecanoe And Morton Too." First we've seen in this double ribbon format. Rare.
