Auction #196 - Part I
Item numbers 1 though 975 in auction 196
Item Description
1-1/8" stickpin holds 1.25" across high relief embossed brass shell depicting a running pig. Riveted at his tail is a 3/8" brass medallion inscribed on each side "16 To 1." Medallion can be hidden behind the pig's body and then manually pulled up to display. The piece expresses opposition to Bryan and his proposed ratio of silver to gold and implies the popular slogan of the day 'In A Pig's Ass'." An anti-McKinley version with the medallion reading 'Sound Money' was also issued. Scarce and Exc.
