Item Description
Levine's reference on inaugurals estimates only 3,000 made. This is a beautiful 1.75" dia. thick and heavy chocolate bronze medal. This example was once suspended by a ribbon and bar pin. These are gone but the metal piece from below the ribbon is here and reads "Inauguration March 4, 1897." Obverse shows McKinley/Hobart jugate surrounded by state names. Reverse shows large eagle at center flanked by names of the original 13 colonies. Reverse has two dark tarnish 1/8" dots near top but rest is Exc. Limited issue.
