Auction #196 - Part I
Item numbers 1 though 975 in auction 196
Item Description
As is so typical, this 1.25" tall by 1-5/8" wide bug has lost some of its silver flashing over the past 112 years but nice highlights remain on the bug's body and most silver flashing remains over the circle design on the right wing with the inscription "16/1." Bryan photo on the opposite wing is essentially Mint. The wings fold beneath the bug's body and then with the touch of the lever, spring open. An Exc. example working perfectly and this mechanical silverbug is probably at least 20 times scarcer than its matching goldbug.
