Item Description
Sizes are 15/16" down to .75". First is memorial button from 1940 for famous spiritual leader. In Israel, he created Jewish fighting brigades to join the British war effort during WWI. He was later instrumental in founding the Irgun Zvai Leumi militia in Israel from 1943 until the founding of the State of Israel. Second has Hebrew text and name "Menachem Ussishkin" along with dates "1863-1941." Third is a litho with 2 Hebrew letters at the top and English text below "For A Jewish State." Shown is a map design with tiny text designating "Dead Sea, River Jordan, Jerusalem." At the top of the button by a 1/8" paint scratch is "Tiberius." Made by Green Duck. Last button shows Star of David with the words "Loyalty/Chizuk Amuno." Tiny gray spot on edge. Fairly early issue with backpaper from Baltimore company Torsch & Franz. The two portrait buttons display Mint. Other two as noted. All scarce.
