Item Description
14.75x23.25x4" deep box with applied color image label contains what we believe to be a complete playset #7959098C c. mid-1970s. Box shows wear. Has areas of missing surface paper on one side about 2x1", 1x1" and 1x.5". Front flap has 4" tear to the right and 1" tear to the left. Other flap has Sears stock number with scotch tape applied over it and a rubber stamped date of "January 22, 1974." Box VG. Contents include the following: Mansion w/support wire, roof w/two chimneys, porch w/columns and jockey lawn ornament. Four cream colored character figures including Lincoln, Grant, Davis and Lee. 80 soldiers - 40 each of Union & Confederate in a variety of poses plus 3 horses w/separate riders. 3 different style cannons although these are as produced non-firing versions. 2 large bunkers, 2 complete flag poles/bases w/tin litho flags, a large tent and 3 small tents, 3 fence sections plus over 20 misc. small accessories including cot, rifle stands, table, barrels, buckets, boxes etc. Building appears never to have been assembled, it plus all other figures/parts are NM. also comes with "Heritage" booklet. Exc. Has instruction sheet which has age toning and a few tears. Fine. A nice high grade example of one of the later Marx Civil War sets From the Tomart Archives and comes w/COA signed by Tom Tumbusch and Ted Hake.
