Auction #196 - Part II
Item numbers 976 though 2670 in auction 196
Item Description
6x6x3.5" deep box contains 3-piece "Beetleware"-like hard plastic set by Bryant Electric Co. Mid-1930s. The rarely seen box is designed like a house and was meant to be cut apart and assembled which would explain its rarity. Great images on all sides of Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy, Clarabelle and long-billed Donald. While box is complete, entire interior surface has been reinforced with cardboard, expertly done. Box does exhibit all-over aging and wear including some splits along edges repaired by the reinforcement but still very displayable as is. Set consists of mug, bowl and child's feeding dish each featuring same image of Mickey and all in matching red color. Bowl has some hairline scratches to the Mickey image, however set retains a totally bright and glossy appearance and shows little to no wear from use. Overall Exc. Only the second set with box we've offered in our 41 years. From the Carl Lobel Collection.
