Item Description
18.75x21.5" printed cardboard game board w/unused easel back. 1940s. Comes w/19x22" original flattened but complete box. Box has text in bold letters "Torpedo Action Game/A Point Scoring Game That Everyone Will Enjoy/Roll The Balls And Sink The 'Enemy' Ship" followed by game instructions. Handling wear, aging, tears to box. Box is Good. Brightly colored game board has two 1.75" red target areas at bottom. 1" long plastic pins are held into place at center of targets through tiny metal grommets. Back of pins are attached to strings that hold up the diecut Japanese aircraft carrier seen at the upper portion of the game board. When the pins are hit w/1.5" original wood ball, the suspended ship drops into the ocean. Both pins must be hit for the ship to completely sink. A 1.5" long Japanese flag is printed on the side of the ship. Lower portion graphics show two submarines firing bright red torpedos. Game board shows scattered spotting, uneveness. Back has numerous dark lines from an undetermined source (does not affect appearance). Easel back is unused. Great concept and graphics. VF.
