Item Description
Small 2.25x2.75x.75" deep box designed like a book contains 2" tall metal compact with enameled paint lid. By Cohn & Rosenberger, Inc. c. 1934. Box has Mickey's name on spine, lid depicts him with cane, inside of lid is a fishing scene. Lid and spine have noticeable fading of orange color which now appears tan, moderate aging and some traces of moisture staining. Interior remains clean although box bottom has inked date of purchase. VG. Compact lid depicts Mickey standing next to Minnie who holds a compact herself. Has attached chain with finger loop, interior has mirror and powder chamber. Few tiny spots of missing enamel paint including on Mickey's cheek and one foot. Paint remains glossy, silvered metal body retains near full luster. Fine. Rare with box. From the Michael J. Stern Collection.
