Item Description
Two different boxed puzzles from the 1930s by Vera of Paris. Both boxes are about 7x9x1" deep. First is "Cubes" set consisting of wood blocks with paper labels on all sides that form a total of six different puzzle scenes. All feature Mickey and these include the Band Concert, Ye Olden Days, Mickey with orphans, Mickey and Minnie blowing bubbles, Mickey on deck of a ship, Mickey riding Tanglefoot and dangling bone in front of Pluto. Moderate box wear/aging. Wood blocks also have scattered aging and wear to paper labels along edges. Overall Fine. Second set consists of pair of jigsawed wood puzzles with paper labels. One depicts Practical Pig shouting at Fifer and Fiddler Pig who are dancing as he works, the other is of Big Bad Wolf spying on Fifer and Fiddler Pig. Box lid has label depicting Mickey painting a picture on a fence which is a paste-over label of one of the Pig puzzles. Shown along with Mickey are the Three Pigs and Minnie. Box has scattered aging but remains tight and Fine. Puzzles are still held together by original onion skin paper wrap and remain Mint. Great graphics. From the Carl Lobel Collection.
