Auction #196 - Part II
Item numbers 976 though 2670 in auction 196
Item Description
16" long tin sax w/eight keys and wood mouthpiece. On one side is 2" dia. decal depicting Donald wearing a cape and flamboyantly playing a violin, having just broken a string. This has small "W.D." copyright. Opposite side has Czechoslovakian company "Haro" marking and this was imported by Borgfeldt. This company produced a series of toy instruments in the 1930s (see Mickey trumpet #1874), all of which are rare and while we have offered two Mickey saxes in the past, this is the first instrument from this company we've ever offered in our 41 years featuring Donald. Works and produces musical notes. Valve cover of one key has been reattached. Moderate scattered wear, small paint nicks and scratches, minor indents, aging. Decal has three 1/16" to 1/8" flakes to the left of Donald. Fine.
