Marx produced a number of different Davy/Alamo playsets, this is No. 3530. c. 1955. 11x22.5x3" deep box with graphics in blue/yellow. Lid features "Fess Parker As Davy Crockett." Lt. box wear with a few long but light creases, 3" tape strip seal on front center edge. Set is unused old store stock and complete as issued but with a couple of factory errors. Rather than having a wheeled firing cannon and sprue of 10 shells, it comes with a WWII anti-aircraft gun with sprue of projectiles. Also, rather than having a two-piece well with bucket on pole, it has the base with an extra campfire with pot piece. Rest of set is as it should be including tin litho chapel with top piece, gate and walls, Davy Crockett figure, 10 pioneers, 12 Indians, 6 horses, etc. Instruction sheet aged with small bit of insect damage, Fine. The 8.5x11" photo of Fess Parker as Davy is Exc. Original bags have scattered tears and creases but all parts/pieces are Exc. to Mint and as issued. The few missing pieces could be easily replaced to complete this o/w factory fresh set.
