Item Description
9.5x11.25" stiff brown paper envelope w/all art and text hand done. c. 1940s, probably from the Sam & Gordon Gold Premium Archives and done for a premium proposal, however, the item was never actually produced. Front features painted art of Bob Hope in an airplane holding on to and surrounded by different types of game boards. Text reads "Here's Your Bob Hope Game Kit" w/return address at bottom of Chicago, Ill. and noting sponsor "Pepsodent." Hand done text on back notes a game kit could be sent to "A Serviceman" w/supplied coupon. All text on back flap is in ink while back of envelope itself has penciled text reading "Instructions For Assembling Diecut Pieces/Dice Box/Dice/Horses/Planes." The game boards shown on front include one w/airplanes and another w/horse race track. Scattered trace of wear/aging, mostly along margins and on back flap. Fine. Unique.

Here is new information just given to us-

This came from the files of Fred Voges – Chicago premium designer who both worked for Sam Gold as well as having his own company Advertising Ingenuities later on (starting in the 1940’s). Art is most likely by Wally Wiest who worked with Fred both at Gold and was his partner in Advertising Ingenuities.
