Item Description
15,000-word manuscript typed on 8.5x11" sheets and titled "The Sentimentalists." Leinster was the pen name of William Fitzgerald Jenkins, an award-winning science fiction writer who began his career with pulp magazines, submitting stories to such titles as "Argosy, Snappy Stories, Black Mask, Mystery Stories, Weird Tales." Aside from Leinster's sci-fi work, he is also credited with inventing "Parallel Universe" stories giving rise to stories told on alternate worlds. Manuscript was submitted to Otis Klein Associates, Inc. agents and is marked in pencil as a "Galaxy Monthly Novelet." Top page has been dated 9/30/52 and 12/4/52. Numerous editorial pencil markings have been made on pages. Pages are worn/aged, mostly along margins and attached with large paper clip. VG/Fine. Great piece for any sci-fi fan.
