Item Description
c. 1864 under glass in 13x17" shellacked wood frame of the style used by Currier & Ives, although this is by Kellogg of Hartford with additional tiny text for Phelps & Watson and F.P. Whiting, both with N.Y.C. addresses. Glass and wood backing board are both original. A few small wear marks on frame but VF and print is extremely clean. A soldier unidentified, but obviously meant to depict McClellan is shown with his family with title below "The Brave At Home" plus eight-line verse about bravery, war and worry. At upper left on wall is shown ornately framed portrait of general and 1852 presidential candidate Winfield Scott. VF.
