Item Description
One of only two jugate designs pictured in the reference “Threads Of History” by Collins. Cotton, 20x19.5”. Text below the portraits reads “Gen. Winfield S. Hancock/Democratic Nominee For President/1880” and “Hon. William H. English/Democratic Nominee For Vice President/1880.” Four eagle designs near the corners with ribbon inscription “E. Pluribus Unum” and above each shield the accent reads “In Union Is Strength.” Couple of exceedingly faint tan marks on the Hancock bkg. and a very slightly darker tan 1” dia. mark to the right of English’s head. Overall extremely clean with intense turkey red bkg. Tiny text on lower right names maker as “Washington/S.H. Greene & Sons.” VF. Scarce.
