Item Description
6" dia. by 8.5" tall (plus wire/wood handle) lantern in shape of working man's lunch pail. Interior bottom has holder for a candle. Light would illuminate the circular holes forming their names on one side while opposite side illuminated slogan would read "Four Years More/Of The/Full/Dinner/Pail." Original thin silver flashing of the tin metal has disappeared over the years as is normal. Much of the surface has very thin layer of oxidation as is typical of tin metal with only a very small heavier rusted spot over a 1" long segment on the bottom side edge and slightly larger .5x1" spot on the underside. The cup at top is decorative only with 3 cut-out stars and underside tabs that affix to the lid of the pail which removes to access the candle holder. Several designs are known of this format and this is shown as Hake #3016. A great figural display item of this campaign. Shows minor age, but no abuse. An exceptionally nice example without dents and obvious blemishes. Sales of similar examples have reached $2,800. Rare.
