Item Description
Exceptionally large and heavy 13" tall ribbon badge with extensive brass tassels and flag ribbon accents. Bar reads "Philadelphia" and ribbon reads "David Martin Marching Club/19th Ward/Inauguration/Washington, D.C./1905." Martin was the city's Republican party leader and also served as state senator and later Secretary of the Commonwealth. The 1.75" real photo celluloid has all-over crazing but only a .25" line on forehead shows. At top, two blue ribbons were once looped through slots on lower edge of the bar pin. These split, but yellow ribbon remains intact. Ribbon reverse has Whitehead & Hoag label. Although moderately damaged, a most impressive, exceptionally large and rare badge from TR's inaugural. Only example known to us.
