Item Description
Photos are 6.5x8.5" or a bit larger. Most with dates of Jun. 29-30, 1932. Most back stamps are by Hearst, Association Press and Acme News pictures. Seven of 16 still have caption sheets. Those without caption sheets usually have black or red hand-inked notation as to what the photo shows. Four photos have one margin trimmed off. Some have minor ripples or corner crease but all are extremely clean. We show 5 photos, the other 11 are shown on website. Five shown are Will Rogers at podium with CBS/NBC microphones; Father Coughlin (see Coughlin speech sign #187) addressing delegates; Al Smith; Al Smith Supporters With Signs; plus scene with large FDR banner. Other 11 photos show Al Smith with other Democratic notables including Jimmy Walker. Remainder are scenes of convention floor or podium shot from the floor. Five of these still have caption sheets. Comes with Hake's COA.
