Item Description
Lot of four. First is metal fire badge w/eagle at top and reads "Lockport Exempt Hydrant 1." On either side are images of hook and ladder and pumper w/letters "F-D." Back has partial manufacturer's marking reading "Braxmar." Remaining marking is not legible. Second is 2x2.25" badge w/same design. The word "Exempt" has been replaced by the "83." No back mark is visible. Badge shows lt. wear of silver lustering showing brass underneath. Third is 1-7/8" dia. celluloid. Two-sided. Around color image of fireman reads "Hydrant Hose Co., No. 1/Lockport, N.Y./At Jamestown, N.Y./September 13-14, 1900." Reverse has celluloid backing showing color illustration of two U.S. flags. Marked on curl "Whitehead & Hoag." Last is 1.5" dia. celluloid w/color illustration of fireman in uniform w/hand raised holding fire horn. Flames rise around his feet. Horse-drawn fire wagons are seen behind him. Attached are red/blue ribbons w/gold printing reading "Hydrant Hose Co., No. 1 Lockport/32nd Annual Convention N.Y. State Firemen's Assoc'n Dunkirk, Aug. 1904." Item is 5" tall overall. Exc.
