Item Description
5x5x3.5" tall. Painted tapered metal base holds 2.25" dia. glass dome. c. 1930s. Dome holds red flag that is attached to the center. A temperature scale appears around the gold dome within the glass dome. The flag points to the appropriate temperature of the room. Text on top of the internal gold dome reads "Keystone Roofing Mfg. Co./York, PA/Thermo-vane." Thermometer works. Tiny dust flakes appear inside dome not affecting function. Bottom of base reads "Thermo-Vane/The Thermometer Beautiful/The Schaeffer & Budenberg Mfg. Co. Brooklyn, NY." Scattered chips on painted base, overall Fine. An interesting design.
