Caption explains that General Balbo "On Board The USS Wilmette In Chicago After Leading A Fleet Of 24 Sea Planes In Trans-Atlantic Flight From Italy." Second is dated 7/21/33. Caption explains Balbo is seen in convertible riding in ticker tape parade in New York City. He is seen with Italian Ambassador Agusto Rosso and Generoso Pope publisher of Italian/American newspapers. Third is 6x8" photo of Balbo with caption "Balbo Becomes Chief Flying Eagle" at the Chicago World's Fair dated 7/17/33. He is shown with Sioux Indian Chief Blackhorn. Although 12 years earlier he had led a group of 4,000 thugs into a city in Italy and commenced shooting, beating and killing people for 2 days and eventually rose to power with the Fascist government to become Minister of the Air Force, he was welcomed to the United States in 1933 as a hero for commanding 24 sea planes across the Atlantic.
