Item Description
8.5x15.5x1.75" deep box contains early 1940s game by Milton Bradley ©Superman Inc. Lid features great art of Superman leaping over buildings while side panels feature different small action images of him. Box shows scattered wear with creasings at corners but box remains structurally sound. Fine. Contents include 13x16.5" gameboard with center scene showing office scene depicting Perry White at desk next to vacant desk of Clark Kent. This is surrounded by repeated small images of Superman breaking chains and Clark Kent. Lt. 2" crease to surface paper but o/w Exc. Game was produced in other versions (see following item #2293). This version came with die-cut cardboard Superman playing pieces (other version came with standard wooden playing pieces to represent Superman). These double-sided playing pieces show aging, one having .25" area of surface paper lift, not affecting Superman image. Complete with original wooden bases and die. Fine/VF. This game came in different sized boxes and playing pieces also varied. This version is marked "Milton Bradley Company" between buildings at right.
