Item Description
First is 11.25x11.25". 12 pages. Folder consists of five 2-page maps and one 44" long, 4-page fold-out map. Each map gives various Fair locations including exhibit area, international zone, transportation zone, amusement area, etc. Each map has a legend at the bottom for easy location of various sites. Illustrated vignettes appear at top and sides of each map. Bright, colorful, futuristic designs by Tony Sarg who was to the 1930s pop art what Peter Max was to the 1960s. He was also noted for innovative childrens books. Folder is Fine/VF. Lot also includes 3x4x2" high hinged cardboard trinket box with glossy black paper and applied colorful Tony Sarge illustration on lid. Trylon and Perisphere appear in center with text "N.Y. 1939 World's Fair." Scarce. Box VF. A colorful, informative and amusing look at the Fair.
