Two 2.75x3-3/8" thin paper card from a set of 24 issued in 1941 for the Superman Bread campaign. Each originally had a small detachable pledge stamp at right which was to be removed and pasted in the Superman Junior Defense League Bread Membership Folder in order to receive a Junior Defense League pin. Both have pledge stamps detached, but cards themselves are complete and all are scarce even without stamps. Both feature choice full color art on front, back is bw with text including description for that specific scene plus small image of Superman that appears on the club badge and other club items. Each reverse has imprint for "Wind's Butter Krust Bread." Presented here are cards #2 "Saving The Draftees" featuring scene showing Superman lifting buried train locomotive; #5 "Fighting A Tank" showing Superman throwing tank. .25" tear at bottom middle margin of #2. Light residue visible in reflected light on front. Fine. #5 is VF.
