Item Description
10x12" base sits on four .5" brass balls. 4.5" tall. 8.5x11.5" celluloid cover shows color portrait image of Dewey w/repeat pattern of U.S. flags and stars and stripes shields on either side. Celluloid is high gloss w/only minor wear visible in reflected light. Corners are covered w/pressed brass accents. Pressed brass latch appears at bottom of his portrait. Photo album consists of sixteen 8.5x10.75" simulated wood cardboard two-sided photo pages, each page holding two cabinet card-size photos on each side. Many photos of men, women and children remain. Brass hinged latch attached to base has wire lever that when latch is opened, engages music box. Working. Unfamiliar tune. Green plush fabric appears on spine and base. Plush is worn but not worn through. Top remains attached to spine but detached from photo pages. Photo pages remain attached to one another. Key wind appears on bottom w/paper notation reading "Notice/Wind Slowly And Not Too Tight/Use No Oil Of Any Kind On The Instrument." Additional note in script on bottom of base appears to read "The Serenade Waltz." Brass accents show luster loss. Celluloid cover displays VF.
