Item Description
1.25" with gold text surrounding raised dome with portrait at center. Exceptionally clean paint with just a few virtual pinpoints off the extreme outer rim edge. The piece is designed much like the celluloid buttons which followed in 1896. The front litho tin segment has a tin reverse with attached 1" vertical safety pin style fastener. Reverse embossed lettering reads "American Tinplate Made By Norton Bros. Chicago." Our last example in comparable condition exceeded $275.00.
