Item Description
All c. 1938. First is 4-1/8x7.25" tan envelope holding 21 colorful thin cardboard figures with art image on front plus colorful die-cut spinner. Die-cut figures range in size from 3.5" to 4-1/8". Complete set includes one Charlie, 4 each of Edgar Bergen, Don Ameche, Robert Armbruster, Dorothy Lamour, Nelson Eddy. Punch-out figures and spinner are Exc. Envelope is tanned with a few edge creases. Overall "Radio Party" is Exc. Next is 8x21" colorful thin die-cut cardboard of Charlie McCarthy holding daisy. Die-cut mouth and eye openings with tab on reverse allows user to move eyes and mouth up and down. Made by Ketterlinus, Philadelphia. 7/8" split at left knee crease. Bump on fingertip, o/w VF. Next is 19" tall die-cut of Charlie Mc Carthy's sidekick Mortimer Snerd. Small metal grommet holds die-cut back piece that fits behind eye opening and jaw area. user can movie these pieces up and down to make Mortimer talk. Extremely bright, clean and glossy. An Exc. example. Lot also includes two 8.5x11" mailing envelopes with Chase & Sanborn return address. These original mailers are attached to cardboard backings as issued to avoid contents from getting bent. Both of these mailers are of the size used for Snerd. Both show tears/wear. VG.
