Auction #197 - Part I
Item numbers 1 through 991 in auction 197
Item Description
Several buttons that feature this particular photograph of Taft are shown in Hake's Book I and III but this particular design of his portrait surrounded by rwb bunting is unlisted. Backpaper has name and address for W.F. Miller in New York City. This firm was a jobber and W&H usually did their work but on this button and probably the others in the series, the union bug specifies "Boston" rather than Newark, probably accounting somewhat for the small quantities produced in this series. N. Mint, displaying Mint.
